Imphal, February 26: A Tata truck loaded with tomatoes was set on fire by unidentified miscreants at Sanjenbam Shangsabi under Lamlai Police Station at around 8 pm yesterday.

The owner of the ill-fated Tata truck bearing registration no.AS01Y-7364 has been identified as Soibam Khambaton of Iroisemba Mamang Leikai.

The unidentified persons had reportedly made Khambaton to drive the Tata truck from Iroisemba area at around 7.30 pm yesterday till Sanjenbam Shangsabi from where Khambaton was made to go back at around 11 pm yesterday.

Most portion of the truck has been damaged in the fire.

the truck was yet to be picked up by the police till late afternoon today.

Most of the tomatoes from the truck have been reportedly taken away by the onlookers.
