UNC grimly notes firing incident

Imphal, February 26: The attention of the United Naga Council (UNC) has been caught following reported blank firing in the residential area of Chingkham Kabui village in Lilong area under Thoubal district on the night of Sunday.

According to the UNC, the villagers felt panicky following the blank-firing by unidentified gunmen.

The Naga body also stated there have been several such incidents in the past wherein gunmen harrassed and frightened Naga villagers settling in the outskirt of valley districts.

UNC appealed to all armed groups not to indulge in such act of terror in the future.
