Source: Chronicle News Service
Kangpokpi, April 17 2024:
In response to the stance taken by civil society organisations of Sadar Hills, Kangpokpi district, which was declared by Kuki-Inpi, Sadar Hills (KISH) under the auspices of Kuki Inpi Manipur, Committee on Tribal Unity (CoTU), Sadar Hills declared support to the decision to abstain from voting in the ensuing Lok Sabha election.
CoTU asserted that amidst the ongoing strife between the Kuki-Zo community and the Meetei since May 3, 2023, participation in the Manipur Lok Sabha election is untenable.
Therefore, CoTU strongly urges all Kuki-Zo communities within Sadar Hills, to honour the CSOs' directive.
