Imphal, February 15, 2013:
The sit-in-protest staged by All Manipur Elementary School Teachers Association (AMESTA) at Khoyathong Pukhri Achouba Mapal regarding "'requisite qualification scale' completed second day yesterday.
Speaking to reporters, AMESTA general secretary Ch Shantakumar said that the teachers would stage sit-in-protest for five days.
If the Government fails to give any positive response to the demands of the teachers till the end of the fifth day, they would resort to mass court arrest agitation the next day, he added.
This would be followed by relay hunger strike, Shantakumar said and added that the teachers would be compelled to launch fast unto death stir if the Government fails to take up any positive step despite the above mentioned agitations.
