Imphal, February 26 2011: Taking serious concern on the prevailing situation of education in the state due to the ongoing fast unto death stir of the teachers under the aegis of Council of Teachers' Association (COTA) in demand of 6th Central Revised Pay in toto, the Meetei Erol Eyek Loinasillol Apunba Lup (MEELAL) appealed to COTA and the state government to bring an amicable solution to the current impasse.

In a press release, MEELAL stated that the impasse between the striking teachers and the state government is giving a direct impact to the education of students in the state.

Moreover the Board and Council examinations are approaching.
