Jiribam, February 26:
The Komrem Students' Union (GHQs) has extended its support to the stand of ATSUM and MUTSU regarding withdrawal of tribal students from manipur University.
Endorsing ATSUM and MUTSU's demand for proper and sufficient accommodation of tribal candidates in admission and employment in the University, KRSU slammed the State Government for alleged lackadaisical attitude towards plight and grievances of tribal students and failing to implement reservation policy framed by the State Government after the University had been upgraded to a Central varsity.
Cautioning the Government to chalk out appropriate measures to ensure that long standing proposals and aspiration of the tribal students are honoured, a KRSU statement issued by its advisor Emboi Serto highlighted that in case tribal students withdraw enmass on the specified day (March 1) the event would be another 'black day' in the annals of the Government of Manipur.
