Imphal, May 14 2025: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested two persons belonging to banned militant groups fortheir involvement in the killing of a woman, burning and looting in Jiribam's Zairawn village in November last year, the agency has said.

The two arrested have been identified as Nongthombam Meiraba of Bishnupur district and Sagolsem Sanatomba alias Surchandra Singh alias Piba of Thoubal district.

N Meiraba is a member of a proscribed insurgent group, and he was involved in the actual shooting of the woman, identified as Zosangkim (31) on November 7, 2024 .

The two have been taken in custody till May 17 .
