The trial for Dr Th Kishen and his two subordinate staff by some cadres of the NSCN(IM) will be conducted in a court at New Delhi instead of in Manipur.
Supreme Court has given clearance to the petition of the CBI investigating into the case today.
The ruling of the Supreme Court was given in response to a petition filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation praying the court to allow trial on the charge-sheet against the four cadres of NSCN(IM) including its Self Style, Lt Col Hopeson Ningshen who is in the jail, a highly reliable source here said.
Mention may be made that CBI has filed the petition to allow the trial in a court at New Delhi considering the security point of view in the production of the prime accused Ningshen in the court in Manipur even though they submitted the charge-sheet of the case to the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM), Ukhrul in December 2009 .
Mention may be made that CBI had accused four persons including Ningshen of involving in the murder.
Other were Yuhar alias Abo Chibo of Chuinem or Tainem village under Somtal Police Station of Ukhrul district, SK Them Horshang alias Themshang of Apong village under Kamjong police station of the same district and one Johni whose resident is yet to know.
SDO, Dr Th Kishan and his two subordinate staff, driver Rajen and mandol, Token were murdered by the cadres of the NSCN(IM) under the command of the Lt Col Hopeson in February 2009 .
Hopeson Ningshen is currently in Tihar jail where he has been keeping after NSCN(IM) handed over him to the CBI through an NGO in Dimapur in May of this year.
