Imphal, February 26: Thoubal Police Commandos have arrested the information and publicity secretary of the armed outfit PULF (Farooque group) identified as Md Abdul Jabar alias Belal Khan (55) s/o late Mafijuddin of Lilong Haoreibi Mayai Leikai from Lilong Haoreibi Mayai Leikai at around 5 am today.

A caller who identified himself as Belal Khan however said that he is free and not arrested as claimed.

According to SP of Thoubal District Th Radheshyam, one copy of posting order/organisation function copy of PULF, one letter titled 'suspension of operation gee agreement leite' signed by Belal Khan, information and publicity secretary (PULF) were recovered from his possession. Belal Khan stated that he took over the charge of information and publicity secretary in Oct 2007 and he is responsible for issuing press note or party, PULF (Umar Farooque) group, the SP said while conveying about the arrest of a member of PULF (Azad group) identified as Md Juma Khan alias Diamond (24) s/o Md Nasib Ali of Thoubal Moijing from Thoubal Wangmataba at about 6.15 pm of February 24. On the other hand, Imphal West District Police Commandos arrested in all three KCP (MC) activists yesterday.

According SP of Imphal West District Clay Khongsai, the KCP (MC) activist identified as Maibam Bhubon Singh (25) s/o M Dhaneswor of Mongsangei Maning Leikai from Kwakeithel Heinoukhongembi Lamdong at around 2.30 pm yesterday.

Bhubon disclosed that he joined KCP (MC) in January this year through one Atombi Singh of Mongshangei and now working in finance section of KCP (MC) under the command of Atombi Singh.

Based on further interrogation, two more KCP (MC) activists were also arrested.

Mutum Tombi Meetei alias Atombi alias Baljit Singh (32) s/o M Bokul Meetei of Mongsangei Mayai Leikai was arrested from Mongsangei Boroimakhong whileSoram Bonyson Singh (25) s/o S Hemba Singh of Mongsangei Mayai Leikai was arrested from his own house, the SP informed.
