Arms recovered

Imphal, March 19 2025: Security forces recovered a large cache of arms, ammunition and explosives during the Yaoshang Festival (March 14 to 18) .

According to bulletin issued by Police Control Room on March 18, one 7.62mm SLR along with a magazine, one anti riot gun, two 36 HE hand grenades, one detonator, one arming ring, one INSAS LMG magazine, five tear smoke shells, two rubber bullets, seven 7.62mm ammunition, ten 7.62x39mm ammunition, two tracer rounds, two bullet proof jackets and some other protective gears were recovered from Aripat under Nongpok Sekmai police station, Thoubal.

On March 17, one 12 bore single barrel gun, two 9mm pistols with two magazines, four 36 HE grenades with detonators, four arming rings, 20 7.6mm ammunition, twenty 5.56mm ammunition, twenty 5.56x30mm Amogh carbine ammunition, five 9mm ammunition, two 12 bore ammunition and some other items including protective gears from Ngariyan Hill under Andro police station, Imphal East.

Several other arms, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from near Uyok Hill under Nambol police station, Bishnupur, Heikrumakhong, Khabeisoi and Heingang Khong under Heingang police station, Imphal East and from Dampi ridge area under Churachandpur police station on March 14, 15 and 16 .
