Imphal, March 16: On the second day of the two-day consumer awareness programme organised by Consumers' Club Manipur, Department of Taxes senior inspector M Surjit Singh presented paper on 'Significance of Consumer Protection Act in Manipur'.

Weight and Measures Department assistant controller L Basanta Kumar Singh also made presentation on 'Role of Weights and Measures with reference to Manipur'.

Electricity Department (Planning) EE T Bijoykumar Singh, Senapati District Consumers' Club president Merina Dani and Chandel district branch president Thanison also spoke on the occasion.

District Consumer Disputes Redressal Tribunal Forum president Dr Ch Narendra and former head of department of Manipur University Prof N Mohendra were the moderators of first and second sessions respectively, while Consumers' Club Manipur president Haobam Ronel presided over the closing function.
