Dr Lorho reaches out with 'stand on truth' call

Senapati, March 27 2019: The campaign kick-off program of Dr Lorho Phoze, Naga People's Front candidate for Lok Sabha election in Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency was held today at Mini Stadium ground, Senapati.

President, Naga People's Front (Central), Dr Shiirhozielie Leizietsu including Rajya Sabha MP who is also the general secretary, of NPF (Central), president of NPF, Manipur State Unit who is also a Member of Legislative Assembly, Manipur, Awangbow Newmai, a host of NPF supporters from Nagaland, former MLAs from NPF, ADC members from Senapati, Tamenglong, Chandel, and Ukhrul districts and a number of civil society organizations including the United Naga Council, All Naga Students Association, Manipur, Naga Women's Union, Naga People's Organization, Senapati District Students Association and Senapati District Women's Association attended the kick off campaign Awangbow Newmai in his speech said that time has come again to choose the right representative of the people.

People of the region have been living in a state of fear and insecurity with no one to speak for the sake of the people even during emergency.

With frequent change of laws in the land, some of which are made for betterment of the people while some are made to deprive the rights of the minorities, the need is to elect the right candidate, he said and added that with AFSPA still in force, there are times when people could not dare to look at the military in the eye.

Speaking as the NPF candidate Dr Lorho called out to the people to stand for the truth for it is the truth that will set the people free.

On why he chose to stand as a NPF candidate despite his friends telling him that he would not get votes from the Kukis and Meiteis, Dr Lorho said that his reply was to "stand on the truth." Dr Lorho also called upon the Meitei, Pangal and Kuki community to come and sit together to sort out any differences for a better and new Manipur.

He said that anyone should be ready to apologize and reconcile when finds out the truth to live in peace and harmony in the land.

Dr Shiirhozielie Leizietsu termed the ensuing Lok Sabha polls as very crucial for all while asking the people not to make another mistake but to elect the right representative of the people.

Blessing hour to the candidate and his family was led by Rev Ng Lohrii, president, Senapati Karong Area Baptist Union in the latter part of the program.
