Imphal, May 16 2024: The 22nd Foundation Day of Ethno Heritage Council (HERICOUN) was celebrated today at the Adutirium of JN Manipur Dance Academy, Imphal.

The celebration was graced by W Nabakumar, retired Professor, Manipur University; Yumkhaibam Surjitkumar Khuman, president HERICOUN; Bijoy Kakchingtabam, president All Manipur Working Journalists' Union (AMWJU); Longjam Ratankumar, advisor HERICOUN and RK Tharaksana, president WASDEV as presidium members.

Addressing the gathering, Yumkhaibam Surjitkumar extended best wishes to all the people of Manipur on the occasion of HERICOUN's 22nd Foundation Day.

He shared that since its establishment in May 16, 2002, HERICOUN has been striving earnestly to resolve the differences among the different ethnic communities due to various religious & political issues.

Surjitkumar further called for unity among all the ethnic communities to bring peace, harmony and protect the intgrity of Manipur.

As a part of the celebration, HERICOUN presented the 'Tomthin Khudol' award to renowned Shumang Leela artist Sorokhaibam Robindro.

The final round of 11th State Level Khangminnashi Eramdam Quiz Competition 2024 was also conducted and prizes were distributed to the winners.

Winners of the competition in order of merit (team)- Loktak Christian Model High School, Moirang Lamkhai; BBR Unique School, Thinungei Awang Leikai; Little Flower School, Sangaiprou; New Era Higher Secondary School, Thoubal; and Sacred Heart School, Yairpok Laimanai Top Chingtha.
