Chandigarh, May 20 2015 :
While students of CISCE were feeling relaxed after the declaration of their results on Monday, the anxious lot from CBSE affiliated schools would have to wait for another couple of days to know their fate.
According to CBSE regional director RJ Khanderao, the date has not yet been finalized yet, however, the result will be announced this month.
Sources hinted Class X result might be out on May 21, while of Class XII next week.
"We are working on the results and compiling is on.
However, we cannot tell the exact date for announcing it as yet.
All we can tell is that the result will be declared before May ends," said Khanderao.
While Class X students were not that worried as their only concern was admission into the desired stream and school, Class XII kids were tense, especially after the tough Physics and Mathematics exam.
When asked if a decision on Maths and Physics paper was taken as students had raised the matter of the papers being very difficult, Khanderao said, "The CBSE will not let the students down.
The decision taken will be in their favour.
However, whatever the board decided about these two papers will be known only after the results are declared." The CBSE in March considered lenient marking for Maths paper.
"My Maths paper was a complete disaster and I am hoping that CBSE has been lenient in their marking as otherwise the results will spoil the entire percentage," said Sparsh Sen, a Class XII student.
The result was much awaited by JEE (main) candidates as their admissions into the undergraduate programmes at Indian Institutes of Technology, NITs, IIITs, other Centrally-funded institutions, participating institutions in several States and some deemed universities would depend on their Class XII results.
Though the result for JEE (main) was declared on April 27, the ranks were not given as that will be prepared after Class XII results.
Since 2013, Class XII marks were added to the JEE (main) results and a separate rank list would be declared for admissions to BE/BTech and BArch/BPlanning in institutions other than IITs.
This list would be based on the JEE main result with 60% of weightage, and Class XII results with 40% of weightage.
"In previous years, we have seen no matter how well you score in JEE (main), the ranks are often very different after adding of Class XII marks.
Since my Physics paper did not go well, I am even more worried about the results," said Sambhav Guleria, a Class XII student who cleared JEE (main) .
"I am looking forward to get admission in Punjab Engineering College (PEC) University but that will depend on the rank list which will be prepared after the Class XII result is announced," said Kartik Sarin, another student.
