Imphal, May 17 2012: BJP president Nitin Gadkari is likely to arrive here in the last week of May to make a formal declaration at a public function about the party's acceptance of many political heavyweights of the State who are reportedly planning to join the party.

Meanwhile, MPP has scheduled a meeting of its working committee tomorrow where the post-poll political scenario and election of new party president would be deliberated at length.

According to different sources, many political heavyweights of the State belonging to both national and regional parties have already communicated to BJP leaders about their desire to leave their parent parties and join BJP in the aftermath of the 10th Manipur Legislative Assembly election.

It is reported that BJP leadership is willing to accept all of them into their fold.

BJP's acceptance of the new-comers would be formally announced at a public function at Imphal later this month by party president Nitin Gadkari after the party's national executive meeting which is scheduled on May 24 and 25 at Mumbai.

Significantly, MPP political advisor and former Union Minister Th Chaoba and two other politicians attended the BJP North East coordinating committee meeting held recently at Guwahati.

In addition to attending the meeting, they also wrote a letter to the BJP president conveying their desire to join BJP.

Notably, Th Chaoba held the post of BJP State unit president earlier.

Ahead of the BJP State unit presidential election which is likely to be held in September or October this year, the process of enrolment would be kicked off from June, informed a source.

Meanwhile, MPP working committee would hold a meeting tomorrow where the party's organisational structure would also be discussed.

Moreover, all sorts of internal contradictions and disagreements with party president Dr Nimaichand Luwang may be tabled and discussed during tomorrow's meeting.

It is also being speculated that Dr Nimaichand Luwang may tender a letter of resignation from the party during the same meeting.

However, on being enquired about the speculation of his resignation from the party, Dr Nimaichand Luwang rubbished the same speculation as unfounded.

"There is no question of resignation from the party", he asserted.
