Ishok people cry for justice

Local people of Ishok have urged the Government to award befitting punishment of all those involved in the murder of Amway agent Huidrom Subashchandra Meitei.
A public meeting attended by members of local youth clubs and meira paibi organisations was held today at Ishok in connection with the murder of Subashchandra.
The meeting constituted a JAC and subsequently submitted a memorandum urging the Government that the murderers be booked at the earliest.
Subashchandra was shot dead at Kangmong Meisnam Maning Leikai yesterday.
He is survived by his wife and three children.
The meeting also appealed to all concerned to explain reason for murdering Subashchandra.
A crowd of Ishok people who came to submit memorandum were blocked by police at Kwakeithel.
Later, some representatives of the JAC and family members were allowed to proceed to submit the memorandum.
In addition to demanding punishment of the killers, the memorandum also contains demands for Rs 10 lakhs as compensation to the bereaved family and a suitable Government job to the wife of Subashchandra.
