Threatened Indigenous Peoples Society (TIPS) has been carrying out successfully its public interaction programme on 'Rights to life' under the theme of 'Rights and duties under Constitution of India' in different parts of the State since June 1, its general secretary Tondon has stated.
Talking to mediapersons in connection with the campaign at its New Checkon office today, Tondon assured that TIPS has made necessary preparation act on the feedbacks received from the public on the campaign being launched in association with various local clubs since June 1 in different parts of the State successfully.
The first phase of the campaign which concluded on June 6 has been launched in association with Nongpok Ingkhol Pioneers' Club, New Checkon; New Checkon Youth Club; Eastern Students Club, Nongmeibung; Maharaj Garibniwas Memorial Club, Ningthem Pukhri Mapal; Citizens' Club, Soibam Leikai and Minuthong Social Welfare Club, Hatta.
TIPS has made necessary preparation for continuation of the campaign in hill districts of the State as well with the main objective of spreading awareness and understanding among the people on the International Declaration of Human Rights, Tondon said, while seeking the co-operation and support of all the people in this regard.
As part of the campaign, TIPS would also join hands with other social organisations in observing the International Day Support of Victims of Torture at State Guest House on June 26, Tondon informed.
