Imphal, June 22:
United Committee Manipur (UCM) submitted a memorandum today to Governor SS Sidhu drawing attention for urgent needs of the villagers of Wakan area of Sadar Hills who had fled from their homes and are taking shelter at Purum Likli and Champhai villages due to KNA and KRA clash.
Conveying that no Government agency has visited yet the temporary shelters except a casual visit of Saikul SDO, the memorandum signed by its UCM president K Lanngamba urged the Governor to find out a way to send the innocent villagers to their respective homes.
Seeking for immediate relief materials to these temporary shelters, the memorandum also sought for Central Government's intervention on KNA-KRA clash as these groups are under the cover of SoO.
Meanwhile, UCM also expressed gratitude to all who helped the social organisation in organising the function of 'June 18' .
