UNC should not oppose Sadar Hills : Kuki Peoples' Forum (KPF)

Slamming the UNC for opposing the creation of Sadar Hills district, the Kuki Peoples' Forum (KPF), Chandel warned the state government to fulfill the demand of a full-fledged Sadar Hills district.
Speaking in a press conference held at Khristina Hotel, Paona Bazar today, N Monta, secretary KPF, Chandel told reporters that, the creation of Sadar Hill district is not only for the Kuki community, but also for the people of different communities residing in the Sadar Hills area.
It is a demand for a better administration in the area.
It is not right for the UNC and ANSAM to oppose the demand since it is for a better Sadar Hills, he said.
Showing its support to the agitation and demand of the SHDDC, he told reporters that KPF will launch similar types of agitations in Kuki inhibited areas in Chandel district and even block the Imphal Moreh Road if the state government fails to give in to the demand of the SHDDC.
He also expressed his hope of support from Kuki inhibited areas in Churachandpur district soon.
Chairman, KPF, L Mate told reporters that SHDDC has been demanding a full-fledged Sadar Hill district since the 1970s.SHDDC is demanding for a full-fledged district within the administration of the state and not outside the state.
This makes the demand of the SHDDC a rightful demand.
Secretary Information and Publicity, KPF, Robert Gangte and Joint Secretary K Touthang also attended the press meet.
