Imphal, February 28:
The proscribed RPF and its armed wing the PLA have offered revolutionary salutes to Sgt Maj Khaidem Munindro alias Korou s/o late Kh Ratha of Bishnupur ward no 8, Private Leimajam Naoba alias Chaoba s/o Radheshyam of Tentha Marongba Leikai, Private Chingakham Basanta alias Jiban s/o Ch Kerani of Andro Khuman, Private Heikrujam Neta Singh alias Parinaokhomba s/o late H Bira of Pangei Ibudhou Marjing Mathak, Private Lourembam Joysana alias Chingsanglakpa s/o Thambou of Takhel Mamang Leikai and Private Samjetsabam Ranjit alias Chingkhei s/o late Angou of Leimaram Mamang Leikai.
The six PLA cadres were killed by troops of 24 Assam Rifles in the night of February 23 at Thabung Minou.
A statement issued by RPF's chief of Department of Communication and Publicity N Wangba said that the six PLA cadres were on a mission without any arms.
They were apprehended by troops of 24 AR in the midnight of February 22 who subjected them to severe torture.
In the wee hours of February 23, the AR troops shot them dead and dumped the bodies there.
Informing that some other PLA cadres who went together with the those killed managed to escape from the hands of AR troops, Wangba asserted that there were some individuals among the AR troops who spoke Kuki dialect.
Maintaining that the PLA cadres were clad in civil dress when they were apprehended by AR troops, Wangba decried the alleged unethical practice of security forces dressing up dead cadres in combat uniforms regardless of whether the combat uniforms fit the deceased cadres or not.
The AR troops did not even confirm the identities of the civil dressed men before they shot them dead.
That was why, the Assam Rifles claimed that those killed were cadres of the UNLF, asserted Wangba.
What is more disgusting was the AR claim of recovering weapons which were never used by the PLA, he remarked.
Despite their attempt to present the incident as an encounter, the truth can never be concealed, Wangba stated.
At such a time when the people are enduring the atrocities of the alien rule, there are instances where some people of the land have been collaborating with the alien forces.
Stressing on the cruciality of unity amongst the indigenous people of Manipur, Wangba termed those collaborators of the alien forces as traitors, even though they are citizens of Manipur.
Asking the collaborators to mend their ways, the RPF asserted that no Manipuri would be spared by the alien rule.
There have been several instances where alien forces eliminated many State natives after using them with some money.
Stating that the outfit has learnt of the exact circumstances under which and with whose assistance the six PLA cadres were killed, Wangba warned all those involved in the incident to surrender at the earliest.
The outfit also shared the pain and grief being endured by the families and the people at the lost of the six precious PLA cadres.
The demise of the six PLA cadres would be an irreparable loss not only for the outfit but also for the whole revolutionary movement, noted Wangba.
