PREPAK accuses GoI of not following international law

The proscribed PREPAK has accused the Government of India (GoI) of not following the international law.
Rights of every people across the world to make their own choice of self determination is already guaranteed in the UN Charter.
As per the UN General Assembly and the international law, every community has been given the Right to Self Determination.
However, India which claimed to be a developed country does not follow the international law, reads a statement issued by the outfit's Military Affairs Committee (MAC) Chairman Kh Sathy on the occasion of the '41st Red Army Uprising Day' (March 26) .
Nonetheless, the Kanglei people still have the Right to Self Determination on whether to restore the freedom or not.
All the people of Kangleipak must unite and face all kind of soft power and hard power to restore the freedom of Kangleipak by knocking at the door of the United Nations, it asserted.
Greeting the people of the region who have been living under the alleged Indian colonial rule, the MAC Chairman also paid revolutionary salute to all the revolutionary groups of Kangleipak and WESEA region.
According to the statement issued by the MAC Chairman, after India allegedly annexed Kangleipak forcibly by violating all international laws, various strategic activities to suppress the majority community of the region has been taken up by the alien ruler.
The then Chief Commissioner, which GoI sent abolished the Pass System to check entry of outsiders on November 18, 1950 .
Since then, outsiders started flooding Kangleipak.
GoI has been trying to show the world that Kangleipak has been a part of India since time immemorial by portraying the struggle for restoration of independence of Kangleipak under the leadership of pioneer Hijam Irabot as an act of extremism.
The present armed struggle is not to segregate Kangleipak from India but to restore its independence which was forfeited by India when it forced the then nominal head of the erstwhile kingdom to sign the so called Merger Agreement under duress in violation of both domestic and international laws, it asserted.
The so called Merger Agreement was not recognized by the then elected representatives, neither referendum nor plebiscite had been conducted to get the assent of the people of Kangleipak.
If India follows the true spirit of democracy, it would have conducted plebiscite or referendum to find out whether the people of the State wanted to join India or exist as an independent kingdom, reads the statement.
The prolonged armed revolutionary struggle of PREPAK is not a demand for independence from GoI, the goal is to restore the independence of the region and make a developed and equal society, it said.
"We believe in socialism where everyone lives in equal status, and moreover we also believe that we can restore our independence if all the revolutionary fighters of the WESEA region join hands and fight the enemy together", the MAC Chairman conveyed.
On the other hand, like the earlier regimes, leaders of GoI continue to make similar appeals to the revolutionary fighters to shun violence and to initiate peace talk.
What is funny is that, India tries to portray itself as peace lovers, and showcase the people of Kangleipak as violent and barbaric who stand against peace, to the world community.
The root of the political conflict between Kangleipak and India is the forceful annexation of Kangleipak and the conflict can be resolved once the Indian regime retreats, it asserted.
In order to protect and safeguard the freedom of the people of Kangleipak, Kanglei people have been fighting to overthrow the Indian rule from the soil of Kangleipak, it continued.
Even though India is telling the world that there is no freedom struggle in the country, they are enforcing the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act, 1967 and declaring those revolutionary groups of the WESEA region waging war against GoI as outlaws, it noted.
"Our ancestors never wanted to live under colonial rulers, that was why Kangleipak shone for years as an independent kingdom in the Western South East Asia.
Sacrificing our lives for the cause of freedom of our Nation is the lesson taught by our ancestors.
This lesson has been always in the heart of the PREPAK and its army wing Red Army (RA)", said the MAC Chairman.
"We may fail to reach our goal in this generation but we still hope that the torch we light up to fight for the cause of freedom will be followed by the next generation until the cherished goal is achieved", the statement continued.
The role being taken by the Red Army to restore the independence of Kangleipak and its people is commendable, Sathy remarked.
