Imphal, April 08 2009: Ruling out any chances of the Third Front coming to power at the Centre, former Chief Minister and BJP candidate Wahengbam Nipamacha said that it would be either the NDA or the UPA that would form Govt at New Delhi.

Nipamacha was addressing an election meeting held at Lilong Turel Ahanbi Dam Sabal Lampak this afternoon.

Nipamacha said that he joined the BJP after taking into account need of 'power politics'.

"It was during the time of my Chief Ministership that the MOBC was set up in the interest of minorities, particularly Muslims", he claimed.

The collective desire of Muslims to establish mushafikhana will be certainly fulfilled if elected, the former CM assured.

Saying that he hate to make tall claims which would be hard to put into action, Nipamacha asserted that what he was saying was what he could execute.

"Once when I was the Chief Minister there was a persistent demand to produce Sanamacha of Angtha even though it was known to all that Sanamacha had been killed by security forces.

As they were asking for something impossible, I told them I would give one Sanamacha made of clay", Nipamacha recalled.

Reminding that Manipur has three parliamentary seats of which one is occupied by Rishang Keishing, he noted that one would be elected from the Outer Parliamentary constituency and the other from the Inner constituency.

Under the existing circumstances, all the three Parliamentary seats may fall into the hands of individuals hailing from the Outer Parliamentary constituency in case Dr Nara belonging to the Outer Constituency is elected in the Inner Lok Sabha seat, he observed.

Observing that works done by Ministers, MLAs and politicians are known to the public, Nipamacha said that he too has been tackling various issues from time to time in the interest of the State.

Maintaining that voting for BJP would prove to be most beneficial to the people, former MLA Meinam Bhorot, rejecting the assertion that BJP is a Hindu party, asserted that only BJP MP but none of the MPs belonging to other parties came to the State in 1993 when the State saw an unfortunate conflict.

As a result of the works taken up by BJP for Muslim minorities, the party is receiving more support, he claimed.

Wahengbam Nipamacha who had held the post of Chief Minister twice and the Speaker of Vidhan Sabha once, would certainly get a berth of Cabinet Minister at the Centre in case he gets elected, he asserted.
