BSF personnel partially removed from Kwatha

After an appeal by the people of Kwatha village, Tengnoupal district not to pull out the company of 139 Battalion BSF deployed in the area, only part of the personnel belonging to the Company were withdrawn on Wednesday.
Residents of Kwatha village had been protesting for the past few days after the government began taking up steps to withdraw the BSF deployed in the location, alongside Assam Rifles and state forces.
On Wednesday, Meira Paibis blocked the vehicles which had come to the village to pick up the BSF personnel.
Later, the CO of 3AR arrived and talked with the authority and Meira Paibi of Kwatha village, following which it was agreed to withdraw some of the personnel from the location, while others would resume duty.
Based on the agreement, personnel of AR, state forces and BSF are on duty at Kwatha village, a report conveyed.
