AR observes World Health Day, holds awareness prog

In connection with observance of World Health Day, Assam Rifles on Monday organised medical camps at Nambol and Bungte Chiru villages in Bishnupur and Kangpokpi districts respectively.
In a release PRO IGAR (S) informed that the Nambol camp witnessed participation of about 45 villagers with 40 villagers attending the camp at Bungte Chiru.
Interactive sessions on the importance of health and balanced lifestyle, highlighting preventive healthcare and awareness on common illnesses were also conducted.
According to the PRO, the initiative was appreciated by the local population for its focus on public health and community welfare.
On the other hand, Assam Rifles conducted an awareness drive on women's health and child care on Tuesday at Nambashi village in Kamjong district.
The PRO informed that the initiative was aimed at educating the rural women and young mothers on vital aspects of health, hygiene, nutrition and childcare practices.
The programme featured a health awareness lecture, interactive session on maternal and child health and basic medical checkup for attendees, said the PRO, adding that total of 45 participants, including students, took part in the awareness drive and interacted with the medical team and Assam Rifles personnel.
The initiative was well received by the local community, who expressed gratitude to Assam Rifles for organising the informative and much-needed programme in such a remote location, the PRO conveyed.
