Blood donation marks 86th CRPF Day

143 Bn CRPF, Lamphelpat, on Wednesday celebrated the 86th CRPF Day, honouring the force's legacy with patriotism and enthusiasm.
The event commemorated the historic occasion of March 19, 1950, when Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel presented the CRPF with its regimental flag, a moment of great significance for the force.
According to a release, 143 Bn commandant Ravinder Sharma led in paying tributes to fallen personnel, underscoring the importance �f their sacrifices in safeguarding the nation.
Addressing officers and personnel, he reaffirmed the force's commitment to upholding national security and honouring the selfless service of its members.
As part of the celebrations, the battalion organised a blood donation camp in collaboration with the Blood Bank Department of RIMS, Imphal.
A total of 40 personnel donated blood, which was conducted under the supervision of Dr Sanjit Nepram, medical superintendent, and Dr Kh Pratima Devi from the Department of Transfusion Medicine, RIMS.
Dr Saikat Biswas, CMO (SG) -143 Bn, played a pivotal role in coordinating the event.
The celebrations concluded with a friendly cricket match and a Barakhana, added the release.
