Imphal, April 08 2025: All Manipur Medical Students' Association (AMMSA) organised a voluntary blood donation camp on Tuesday at Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal.

Speaking at the event, RIMS Psychiatry Department professor Dr RK Lenin Singh, underscored the value of service in the medical profession.

He described blood donation as a noble act that offers hope and sustains life for those in critical need.

Dr Lenin commended AMMSA and the participating students for their empathy and proactive efforts, while encouraging them to cultivate blood donation as a lifelong commitment reflective of the core values of medical service.

A total of 62 individuals, including 38 medical students of RIMS and 24 other voluntary donors from the local community, donated blood during the camp.

The blood donation drive was held under the supervision of RIMS Department of Transfusion Medicine, with strict adherence to all safety protocols.

The initiative also aims to raise awareness about the critical role of regular blood donation in healthcare, said RIMS in a press release.
