Stage dedicated to Phungcham villagers

Ukhrul, March 19 2025: A permanent stage, constructed by secretary (Science & Technology) Zuringla Kengoo with the collective effort of the Phungcham villagers, was dedicated to the locals on March 18 .

Phungcham headman Tuireising Horam unveiled the plaque and dedicated the newly-constructed stage to the villagers, with special prayers led by Phungcham Baptist Church pastor Rev Diamond Muivah and pastor (TNBC) Keen Lungran Shang.

Meanwhile, Phungcham Haofa Lovers Association (PHLA) general secretary Iping Zimik expressed gratitude to Kengoo for her exceptional and noble initiative in constructing the Phungcham stage.

He recalled that PHLA approached Kengoo, the then Ukhrul DC, for financial assistance for the construction of a permanent stage at the village during the 3rd edition of the Phungcham Haofa Festival 2024 .

"Without any hesitation, Madam readily agreed and personally provided financial support for the construction and completion of the stage at a cost of Rs 5,35,000," added Iping Zimik.

The dedication programme was also attended by members of the Phungcham Village Authority, leaders of Phungcham Katamnao Mayar Ngala Long (PKMNL), Phungcham Shanao Long (PSL), and representatives from the Phungcham Village Development Council, Atungtang Mayar Ngala Long, Azingtang Mayar Ngala Long, Atungtang Parei Gahar Long, Azingtang Parei Gahar Long, along with Church elders.
