Seminar on Anglo-Kuki War to be held

A one day seminar on Anglo-Kuki War (1917-1919) will be held at Parizeau Maranatha Academy, Kangpokpi on January 5 .
The seminar will be jointly organised by KSO Sadar Hills and Kuki Research Forum in connection with the two years long centenary commemoration program of the historic event.
Member of Kuki Research Forum, Dr Jangkhomang Guite, Assistant Professor at JNU, Dr Letkhojam Haokip and Assistant Professor at IIT Guwahati, Dr Ngamjahao Kipgen will attended the seminar as speakers while Research Officer at Manipur State Commission for Schedule Tribe, Dr Lamtinthang Haokip will moderate the event.
KSO Sadar Hills has invited all Kuki Chiefs and student leaders of the district to attended the seminar.
Ngamkhohao Haokip, General Secretary, KSO Sadar Hills said "While remembering the great contributions of our forefathers who fought the unmatched English, it is time we honour them by learning from their sacrifice, achievements and continue their fight against the contemporary forces that continually seek to suppress us, discriminate against our rights and alienate us from our lands" .
He also said that honouring them denotes honouring our freedom, our culture and our unique ancestral rights to our land.
