Academy of Performing Artists, Thoubal pins hope on CM

The Academy of Performing Artists, Thoubal has appealed to Chief Minister, N Biren Singh to provide assistance to its artists who will represent Manipur and showcase the identity and culture of the State through its play Thambal Khubam (The Throne) at Lingen, Germany.
Academy of Performing Artists, Thoubal has been selected to represent India at the 15th AITA/IATA World Festival of Children's Theatre 2018, to be held at Lingen from June 22 to 29, this year, reports our correspondent.
The academy's play � Thambal Khubham (The Throne) was selected to be performed at the festival in Germany.
Altogether 18 plays from around the globe were selected for the festival.
The festival will be hosted by the Centre of Theatre Education Lingen under the theme "Children Move the World" .
Artists from the Academy of Performing Artists, aged between 6 to 12 years are set to perform the play at the festival.
Due to lack of sponsorship and funds, the academy is facing a huge challenge which is hindering its aspiration to participate in the festival.
The academy has further appealed to the Chief Minister to extend aid and give the young and budding artists the chance they deserve to showcase their play to the world.
