Training held on 'advanced' horticultural technologies

Imphal, March 19 2025:
Horticulture and Soil Conservation Department organised a training programme on 'Advanced Innovative Technologies: Revolutionising Horticulture Sector in Manipur' for the Department's officers and master trainers, at the Farmers' Training Hall of the Agriculture Department near Sanjenthong on Tuesday.
Speaking during the training programme, Horticulture and Soil Conservation director K Devdutta Sharma stressed the need for utilising the latest technologies, innovated for the ever-developing farming systems, for industrialisation.
He said that modern technologies would help in increasing the potential of natural resources available in the state, which is an agro-climate zone.
"This would help increase seasonal yields and income of the farmers, while also helping the state to become self-reliant," he said.
The training programme was attended by Urban Kisan Farmers' Private Limited co-founder and chief scientific officer Dr Sairam Reddy Palicherla, Food Technology Science Institute vertical director Parthasarathi Bhattacharya and NABARD Manipur Regional Office, Lamphel general manager Partha Mandal among others.
