Rally taken out to 'stop violence against women'

Bishnupur, December 23 2024: Women folks took out a torch rally in Irengbam area under Nambol CD block in Bishnupur district, on Sunday, calling for actions to stop violence against women and children amid current crisis.

The torch rally, organised by Khoriphaba Village Level Federation (VLF) under the aegis of Manipur State Rural Livelihood Mission of the Department of RD&PR, was held in connection with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

Led by VLF president Th Robita, secretary S Ranjita and treasurer Th Nanao, the rally participated by members of various self-help groups, was flagged off from Irengbam Kangjeibung, covered different parts of Irengbam, and concluded at the starting point.

In addition to taking an oath for collective stand against violence toward women and children, the participants also chanted slogans demanding an immediate end to violence against women.
