Senapati DC flags off Poshaan Pakhwada rally

Deputy commissioner Mamoni Doley on Tuesday launched and flagged off the rally of 7th Poshaan Pakhwada 2025 organised by DPO/ICDS Cell, Senapati.
Speaking on the occasion, DC Mamoni acknowledged and applauded anganwadi workers and supervisors as warriors for their efforts and further called upon them for deeper dedication in their services.
She said that mothers known for caring and nurturing their children should also monitor food consumption of their wards.
While assuring better infrastructure of Anganwadi centres under the Social Welfare Department, she informed that an inspection will be conducted soon at PHCs and Anganwadi centres.

Speaking on 'Focus on First 1000 days of Life' Dr A Mercy of District Hospital, Senapati, pointed out that 1000 days period begins from pregnancy till 2 years of age.
She also emphasised on better growth and development of babies with proper nutrients, breast feeding and proper vaccination.
She also reflected on the importance of nutrients for healthy growth and advocated right feeding.
According to Adaha Chopullo, DPO/ICDS Cell, Senapati, who elaborated on 'Focus on the First 1000 Days of Life, Popularization of the Beneficiary, Management of Malnutrition through CMAM, and Healthy Lifestyle to Address Obesity in Children', Poshan Abhiyaan is a flagship initiative launched by the Prime Minister to combat malnutrition, improving nutritional outcomes for pregnant women, lactating mothers, adolescent girls, and children under the age of six.
As part of the programme, the DC flagged off the Poshaan Pakhwada 2025 rally from the DRDA Office near Old DC Office Complex.
The programme was attended district level officers, functionaries of Senapati District Women Association and Anganwadi workers.
