Kangpokpi celebrates International Women's Day

Kangpokpi, March 19 2025:
Kangpokpi district celebrated International Women's Day under the theme 'March forward: For all women and girls' on Wednesday.
The event originally scheduled for March 8 was postponed due to prevailing challenges in the district and it was successfully conducted on Wednesday at the conference hall of Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council, Kangpokpi.
The event organised by Kangpokpi district administration and ICDS Cell Kangpokpi was attended by many guests including Tujang Vaichong SDO Hemant Kumar and Sadar Hills ADC CEO James Doujapao Haokip.

A defining moment of the celebration was recognition and felicitation of outstanding women and girls of the district who have shattered barriers and excelled in sports, entrepreneurship and other fields.
Lhingneilam Kipgen from Saikotjang village, a woman footballer, who recently joined Sri Bhumi Club, was honoured for her remarkable achievements in the sport.
Kim Kim, a young badminton prodigy widely regarded as the 'Saina Nehwal of Kangpokpi' was also felicitated for her outstanding performance and dedication to the sport.
Nengnou Lhouvum from Motbung was recognised for her entrepreneurial excellence at the event.
