Meet held over murder of Keibung youth

In connection with the abduction of two youths of Keibung on May 14 by unknown people, a public meeting of CSOs was held on Thursday at Keibung community hall.
Of the two abducted, one namely Md Jahir Khan alias Atomba (23) was found thrashed dead by the abductors while the other identified as Md Farid Hahjuddin alias Boi-cha (20) suffered serious injuries.
The meeting organised by the JAC formed in connection with the incident resolved to submit a memorandum to the chief minister and local MLA highlighting charter of demands.
The demands included befitting punishment to perpetrators of the crime, protection of people belonging to weaker section, not to claim the body till assurance by the government to prevent recurrence of such gruesome murder, form an enquiry committee headed by a retired judge to investigate the incident and launch intense agitation with support of CSOs and public if the said demands were not honoured within the 48-hour deadline set by the JAC.
The meeting also appealed to leaders of CSOs and public to extend support for ensuring justice for the two youths.
