Army organises ex-servicemen rally at Senapati

Imphal, May 14 2025:
Over 520 veterans with their families, 13 'Veer Naris' and five 'Veer Matas' attended an ex-servicemen rally organised by Spear Corps of the Indian Army in Senapati district on Wednesday.
In a release, PRO Defence informed that Spear Corps GOC lieutenant general Abhijit S Pendharkar was the chief guest of the event also attended by Red Shield Division GOC major general SS Kartikeya, and other military and civil dignitaries.
Addressing the gathering, the GOC lauded the veterans for their immense contribution both during active service and in their continued role in society.
He paid heartfelt tribute to the sacrifices of 'Veer Naris' and 'Veer Matas', acknowledging their strength and courage as the backbone of the Indian Armed Forces.
The GOC emphasised the importance of the role in maintaining peace, promoting education, sports and nurturing harmony in Manipur over the past two years.
The rally featured a comprehensive range of support services tailored to the welfare of veterans and their families.
The facilities included grievance redressal cells, banking services and a treasury office to assist with pension anomalies and financial planning.
In a collaborative effort with the District Hospital, Senapati, doctors of Army and government hospital extended medical consultations, check-ups and essential medicines to the attendees.
The release continued that a dedicated information desk on career opportunities in the Armed Forces was also established by the Army Recruitment Office, Rangapahar that benefited the eligible youth and their families by disseminating information, policies and procedures.
The veterans reaffirmed their enduring bond with the Army and expressed immense pride and happiness in interacting with dignitaries and the men in uniform.
A solemn moment of the event was the special felicitation of gallantly awardees and 'Veer Naris', whose sacrifices and bravery continue to inspire generations of soldiers and citizens alike, added the release.
