DESAM reiterates demand for psychological cell

Jiribam, July 11 2024: Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM), Jiribam District Council has reiterated the demand for setting up Psychological Support Cell in every educational institution.

Addressing the media at its office in Jiribam on Thursday, Council president Th Santosh said that the student body, in its 22nd foundation day function, raised the demand for setting up such centres in educational institutions from 2024 sessions onward keeping in view of the trauma being suffered by students amid the 14-month-long ethnic conflict in the state.

Due to the huge psychological impact, many of the students need proper counselling and psychological support.

However, the government has been ignoring the demand till date, he regretted while drawing attention of the government authorities to take up necessary steps in this regard at the earliest.
