DESAM hails decision to re-conduct entrance test

Imphal, May 16 2024: Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM), Manipur University Council has hailed the decision of the university authority to re-conduct the Pre-PhD entrance examination for the Department of Education.

In a press meet held at MU campus on Thursday, Council general secretary Santosh Khaidem recounted that a letter was sent to the university authority for re-evaluation of the Pre-PhD entrance examination of Education Department over discrepancies in the result.

Based on the complaint, a three-member committee was formed on May 3 this year, as ordered by the registrar.

The committee, after detailed examination, recommended on May 14 for cancelling the earlier entrance test and instead, conduct a new entrance test Welcoming the decision, Santosh appealed to all communities of MU to help conduct the entrance as per the guidelines.

He further appealed to the authority concerned to take strict action against those involved in the wrong conduct of the examination and prevent similar incidents in the future.

DESAM will not remain silent if no action is taken up against the wrongdoers, he cautioned.
