14th 'Mahousha Ima Ningshing Tha' underway

Imphal, May 06 2025: The 14th edition of the annual environmental campaign "Mahousha Ima Ningshing Tha" organised by Royal Riders Manipur (RRM), was formally launched at the Manipur Press Club on Tuesday.

Speaking to the media at the launch event, RRM president RK Tombisana announced that this year's month-long campaign themed "Beat Plastic Pollution", will be conducted in a modified format due to the ongoing crisis in the state.

Despite the challenges, several key activities have been scheduled, including a tree plantation drive which will take place at DMU A Block.

On May 18, RRM will provide aid to the Mission Blind School in Pallel, followed by a tree plantation programme, spot painting competition on May 25 at Imoinu Lampak, Ningthem Pukhri Mapal, for students from Class III to V and Class VI to VIII.

The campaign will culminate on World Environment-Day, June 5, with a bike rally aimed at raising public awareness about environmental conservation.

The event will also include roadshows and poster campaigns.

The closing ceremony will feature a "Green Concert" at the RRM office at Meitei Langol, RK Tombisana said, while appealing to the public to actively participate in the campaign.
