Thoubal, March 19 2025: A one-day awareness cum training programme on 'Promotion of Oil Palm Tree Cultivation In The State of Manipur' was conducted by Agriculture Department and Thoubal district administration, under National Mission on Edible Oils-Oil Palm (NMEO-OP), at the counting hall of Thoubal DC Office Complex on Tuesday.

The programme was attended by Zilla Parishad, Thoubal Administrative Committee chairperson Khundrakpam Sobha, Agriculture director Peter Salam and Thoubal deputy commissioner Ahanthem Subash as chief guest, president and guest of honour, respectively.

During the programme which was attended by Thoubal DFO, KVK head, district Agriculture Department staffers, Gram Panchayat pradhan and members, various stakeholders and farmers, Oil Palm Mission, Manipur consultant MS Khaidem and CAU, Imphal Food Science Department professor Romen spoke as resource persons on food value of oil palm and benefits of oil palm cultivation in Manipur to farmers, along with addressing posers raised by the trainees.
