Imphal, May 14 2025: Tengnoupal deputy commissioner (DC) Sauradh Yadav, who assumed charge on Tuesday, assessed progress of the on-going border fencing project, and inspected the Integrated Check Post (ICP) in Moreh, and the Sub-Divisional Hospital, Moreh.

Apart from the fencing works, the DC also surveyed sites for extension of the fencing project from Moreh Ward No 5 Muslim Basti Border Pillar No 79 to Border Pillar No 80 Rom and from Border Pillar No 79 to 78.During the inspection, Manipur Muslim Council, Moreh representatives met the DC and urged for repairing the embankments, which have been damaged due to swift currents created at the confluence of Lairok River and Khujarok River, fallowing heavy rainfall.

The damages are gradually inching towards Border Pillar no 79, the Council cautioned.

If the bank collapses, Border Pillar no 79 could be swept away by the current; the Council pointed out and urged for constructing a retaining wall along the riverbank at the earliest.

The DC was accompanied by Tengnoupal SP, Moreh ADC, Tengnoupal SDO and Moreh SDC among others.
