Trust interacts with 'widows of conflict'

Imphal, April 07 2025:
Wings of Hope Charitable Trust initiated an interaction meet with 35 widows of the current conflict in Manipur and handful of parents from relief camps.
In a release, Trust president and Indian army's Lt Col (retired) L Manongba expressed gratitude to all the donors & well-wishers from all across the country, state & professions, especially to colleagues in the armed forces for success of its first project aimed at extending educational and livelihood support to 31 widows and 57 children.
The Trust launched the second project to support 35 families and 58 school-going children (56 orphans and 2 IDP children) for their continuing education along with assisting a dozen widows through vocational training.
These women, originally from peripheral valley villages like Phayeng, Sekmai, Oksu Ningthemcha, Senjam Chirang, etc., have all been adversely- affected by the crisis with their sole bread earners, mostly daily wagers, lost in clashes that broke out on 03 May 2023, he informed.
Manongba further expressed hope that the benevolent friends will continue to support and help them in the 2nd year mission.
