Another arrested in sexual assault case

Imphal, May 06 2025: After the arrest of Mangai Football Academy founder Nongthombam Mangalsana for alleged sexual assault on 11 young male players of the club, another person involved in the case was pulled up on Monday.

Identifying the second arrested person as Khangembam Shitaljit Meitei (28) of Heingang Panthoibi Leikai, a police report said that Shitaljit was produced before a POCSO Special Court, Imphal East on Tuesday, and remanded to police custody for seven days.

It may be mentioned that Academy founder Mangalsana was arrested on May 4 in the same case, and subsequently remanded to police custody by the Special Court for eight days on Monday.
