Kakching, May 14 2025: An awareness programme on 'Conversation and Protection of Forest Resources from Forest Fire' was conducted by Thoubal Forest Division at Wangoo Laipham Makha Leikai Community hall on Tuesday.

The programme held under the Forest Fire Prevention and Management Scheme (FFPMS) APO 2024-2025 was attended by Thoubal divisional forest officer (DFO) Dr Leishangthem Jeeceelee, Wildlife Explorer, Manipur member Sanasam Chittaranjan Meitei, Wangoo Gram Panchayat Administrative Committee chairperson Laishram Deben and ex-pradhan Loitongbam Sharat as members on the dais.

Addressing the gathering comprising students, leaders of various CSOs, clubs and meira paibi groups of Wangoo, DFO Dr Jeeceelee called upon the people to join hands in preventing forest fire even if one has resentment against the Forest Department.

Stressing the importance of forests for humans, she appealed to the public to protect the forests and avail the benefits of various schemes being implemented under the Forest Department.
