Students lock up Mayai Lambi College indefinitely

Frustrated with the lack of attention in addressing the shortage of teachers in Mayai Lambi College, the students on Monday locked the College following lapse of the 48-hour deadline served for the authorities concerned to dispatch replacement of a teacher transferred from the Economics Department.
The Students' Union of the College on April 4 had set the deadline after the authorities concerned failed to take action.
The students had previously met the education commissioner and director concerned on March 27 to lodge transfer of teacher amidst the shortage of teachers.
Speaking in this regard, Students' Union Social and Cultural secretary Sapam Dipak iterated that the College was locked as the authorities failed to take any action to address the.
shortage of teachers in the College.
If the authorities continue to feign ignorance, then the students would launch different agitations, he cautioned.
