Uripok hunger strike completes 77 days

Imphal, January 31 2025: Even after 77 days of the relay hunger strike protest demanding arrest and punishment of those involved in the abduction and killing of six women and children in Jiribam, the voices of the people remain unheard and ignored by the government, a release issued by the United Apunba Lup (UAL) said.

The release said that the relay hunger strike protest organised jointly by United Apunba Lup and United Nupi Apunba Lup (UNAL) at Uripok Canteen completed 77 days.

Denouncing that the government's indifferent attitude to the public's call for arresting and punishing those involved in abduction and killing of six women and children, it condemned that such act of the government is outright violation of democratic rights of the people.
