Three named for state literature awards

Imphal, January 31 2025:
Ak Jiten, IS Kangjam, and Arambam Memchoubi have been selected for the Manipur State Young Writer Award-2024, Manipur State Award for Literature-2024, and Manipur State Lifetime Achievement Award for Literature-2024 respectively.
The awards are presented by Directorate of Language Planning and Implementation (DLPI).
In a statement, DLPI informed that Ak Jiten was selected for Manipur State Young Writer Award-2024 for his poetry book 'Khoiyum Nongdam Kao', The award consists of a plaque, citation, shawl and Rs 1 lakh cash.
He will be the first to win the award, introduced to recognise young talents, in the field of literature.
For Manipur State Lifetime Achievement Award for Literature-2024, the jury selected Ibohal Singh Kangjam (IS Kangjam) for his contribution in the field over the years.
The award consists of a plaque, citation, shawl and Rs 4 lakh cash.
He is also the first to win the award which recognises outstanding achievements and contributions in literature.
On the other hand, Arambam Memchoubi was selected for Manipur State Award for Literature-2024 for her poetry book 'Thamamba Ahing'.
The award consists of a plaque, citation, shawl and Rs 3 lakh cash.
She will be the 17th recipient of the award that recognise significant contributions in the held.
