Imphal, March 19 2025: The Core Committee of Editors, Churachandpur District Based Daily Newspapers has strongly condemned the destruction of Zogam Today newspaper signboard by miscreants and demanded a formal apology from the perpetrators.

A press statement bearing the signatures of Vicky Suantak, Editor, Nisin Thuhiltu; L Thangsuanmung, Editor, Manipur Express; Lalmalsawm Sellate, Editor, Hmasawnna Thar; S Nengkhanlun, Editor, Zogam Today; Thangchinlian Langel, Editor, Lamka Times and Henkholun Doungel, Editor, Eimi Times further informed that some Eimi Times newspaper agents were also stopped amidst the turmoil prevailing in the district.

The press note has appealed to everyone to refrain from harassing or disrupting media houses, hawkers and reporters who are performing their duties to disseminate information.

Extending solidarity to the Zogam Today newspaper team, the Core Committee urged authorities to ensure the safety and security of media personnel.

Moreover, it called upon everyone to uphold the principles of a free press and allow media professionals to work without fear or intimidation.
