Nishikant salutes brave soul : Speaker led team visits martyred soldier's family

Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker Th Satyabrata led a group of MLAs in a condolence visit to the residence of Deepak Chingakham today.
Posted at the 7th Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF), Deepak was killed in a drone attack by Pakistan at Kharkhola outpost on the Indo-Pak border on the 10th of this month.
The MLAs including Nishikant Singh Sapam, Paonam Brojen, Noor Hassan, Kongkham Robindro, Kh Loken, Dr Y Radheshyam, T Robindro and L Rameswor paid their respects to the family of Deepak, whose remains were laid to rest with full State honours yesterday.
A two-minute silence was observed in honour of the martyr, following which the Speaker and MLAs offered financial assistance to the bereaved family.
Satyabrata, speaking on behalf of the visiting MLAs, announced their intention to offer a Government job to Deepak's younger brother as a gesture of support.
Keishamthong MLA Nishikant stated they visited to offer solidarity to the grieving family.
He said he felt emotional upon learning of Deepak's martyrdom on TV.
Expressing immense pride in Deepak's service to the Nation, Nishikant said that becoming a martyr is the best sacrifice that a man in uniform can offer for the Nation.
The MLA said he would extend all possible assistance to help Deepak's family secure a Government job while paying his respects to the martyr's parents.
Additionally, MLA Yumnam Khemchand, a delegate of BJP Manipur led by its president A Sharda Devi and members of Seva Bharti Manipur and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Manipur Prant also visited Deepak's residence to offer their condolences.
The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Manipur also offered tributes to Constable (GD) Deepak Chingakham of the Border Security Force, who made the supreme sacrifice while serving the Nation along the Line of Control in the RS Pura sector, Jammu.
In a release, ABVP said that Deepak laid down his life defending the country with courage and dedication.
His bravery and selfless service will always be remembered with pride and respect, it said.
ABVP, Manipur karyakartas visited his home to offer their condolences and stand with the grieving family.
They prayed for strength and peace for the bereaved family in this time of great loss.
