Annexation is the root cause of all ills: PREPAK
Source: The Sangai Express

Imphal, November 09 2024: The proscribed PREPAK has categorically stated that the alleged forced annexation of Kangleipak by India is the root cause of all the ills and misery being suffered by the people of Kangleipak.

At the same time, this forced annexation would shatter all the hopes and dreams of India, the outfit asserted in a statement issued by its Charge-de-affairs Publicity and Propaganda LeibaakNgaakpa Luwang.

It appealed to all the people not to hold any merry- making or entertainment programme on November 12 .

It was on November 12, 1978 that PREPAK's Dhi-ren, Kabikanta and PLA's Gambhir were killed when a combined force of CRPF and Kangleipak Police suddenly attacked a transit camp of PREPAK at Leimarok, Kameng.

Again it was on November 12, 1985 that PREPAK leader Ningthemcha Tula-chandra alias Loyataba was killed in an unfortunate incident at Kabowakching.

Taking this common date, PREPAK has been observing "Martyrs Memorial Day' in memory of all the martyrs who have laid down their lives in the course of the revolutionary movement to restore the lost sovereignty of Kangleipak since November 12, 1979, the outfit said.

It appealed to all the people to light up lamps at the memorial tombs/sites of all martyrs and also at residential gates in the evening.

The outfit said that there was no threat to the integrity of Kangleipak before tit was annexed by India in 1949 .

History students know very well that demanding a part of neighbouring State's territory without solid foundation was never successful during the last two centuries.

When Somalia demanded parts of Kenya and Ethiopia inhabited by Somalian tribes, the international community rejected the same demand as unreasonable.

No country has the right to demand a part or parts of a neighbouring country just because the areas are settled by people ethnically related with them, the outfit said.

The statement given by Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma at a joint meeting of Chin-Kuki-Zo people settled in the US at Indianapolis on September 4 which talked about creation of a separate Nation for Chin-Kuki-Zo people has evoked a question whether there is a secret plan since some years back to fragment WeSEA region.

Lalduhoma's statement incited Chin-Kuki-Zo people's passion who think they are being separated and suppressed for a long time, the outfit remarked.

The Mizoram Chief Minister's statement is a big challenge to the sovereignty, unity and integrity of India.

The same statement will also harm India's relationship with Bangladesh and Myanmar.

Necessary actions must be taken up against him under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act 1967 and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023 .

It is now very clear that the crisis seen in Kangleipak since May 3, 2023 is not a communal conflict but an aggression by some elements aided by external forces and India with the objective of destroying the integrity of Kangleipak, the outfit alleged.

If the Government of India continues its policy of disintegrating Manipur, it will prove to be suicidal and India will break apart into multiple fragments, it said.
