Imphal, January 21, 2011:
The JAC Against the Brutal Killing of Dr N Kunjabihari Singh, BOSEM has decided to stage protest sittings at different localities starting from tomorrow in association with different student bodies including All Manipur Students' Union, Manipuri Students' Federation and Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur and the same would continue till January 25. A press release issued by the JAC appealed to all the people of Manipur to stage protest agitation at their respective localities.
It called upon the people to collectively resist and protest against the alarming trend of killing people arbitrarily using hired assassins.
If this trend is not checked immediately and upright officers are eliminated with such impunity, then it would not be long before the Manipuri nation become an extinct lot.
The killing of BSEM Chairman N Kunjabihari inside his office room located in the heavily fortified area of Imphal rather than at his home or on the way which would be much easier has implications which cannot be overlooked, it said.

Apart from the Police Headquarters next door, there is also the office of the SSP Imphal West and the CM's bungalow is only about 50 metres away as well as the heavily guarded Secretariat.
It has evoked a serious question whether an armed gang is operating in Manipur under protection of a big power.
It also decried the inaction of the Government over the murder of N Kunjabihari even though the corpse was claimed following certain assurances from the Government.
Incidentally, asti sanchay ceremony of the deceased officer was performed today.
